The following are the hottest emerging technologies in my opinion with significant commercial potential:

  1. Sixth Sense Technology - a technology that acts as an aid or “sixth sense” to provide real-time data based on the real world.  Pranav Mistry’s definition is the following: “‘SixthSense’ is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information.”
  2. Claytronics - a technology that uses computer data to build real physical objects

  4. Stem cell applications
  5. Alternative energy innovations
  6. Mobile commerce and virtual currencies
  7. Exponential increase computer-assisted decision making
